Mysore practice 18-19/11/19

Updated: Nov 19, 2019

18/11/19

I was a bit late and had a very very hasty practice today. I think the practice was same as usual. I don't know why but I got confused between marichyasana C and D and was almost doing the D first. I quickly changed to C and did it.

It was difficult to wake up today but woke up and took the bus at around 6:25am. Got to the shala before 7am and started practising. My body felt okay and actually even lighter. I focused a lot on bandhas and engaged quads in prasaritta padottanasana today. Anne's push on C was really nice (as always). I was wearing a heattech t-shirts so I was sweating more. Utthita hasta padangusthasana was done with Anne's help. I felt stable and could hold my legs higher. By the time I was in seated sequence my body became very warm. All the forward fold asanas feels healing. No wonder they call the primary series 'Yoga Chikitsa (yoga therapy)'. Twisting in marichyasana C and D felt a bit limited today than yesterday. Oh today's practice felt really good physically but mentally I was too busy. I was thinking too many things in my head. The topics constantly changed in my head. I don't know what happened to me today... Very busy mind! Navasana was okay. My tailbone/sacrum pain goes and comes in a very short interval. Today was a bad day. Bujapidasana was okay and as usual I loved supta kurmasana. Transition was okay too. My garbha pindasana was rough as I tried to touch my head with my hands while I was rolling. It was simply very difficult. All the rolling up was okay today. Anne gave me a good push in urdhva mukha paschimattanasana. Setu bandhasana was okay. Pashasana was done with Anne's help. When she is there it seems very possible. I just need to get used to and work on this pose... with heels down. Krounchasana and shalabhasana were same as usual. For bhekasana, I did some preparation works before coming into full pose. Today it felt easier to hold both feet and turn fingers forward. Good. But lifting chest up and pressing my pelvis on the mat seemed very difficult. But I was happy that I could hold my feet like that. Anne came and helped me to push my pelvis down and open chest more. Oh.. it felt super good! Back bend was okay. I couldn't have my feet stable all the time when I came up. But at least I did drop back practice in a speedy way. I didn't really pause and kept dropping and coming up. I was happy that I was becoming comfortable with this speed. Anne helped me to drop and I walk my fingers close to my heels. They are not yet touching my heels but they are getting there. Very very veeery surprisingly.. I didn't feel much back pain after this practice. Usually I feel some pain in the lower back after the back bend practice but today was a way less. Good sign. I stayed in paschimattanasa for enough time. Shoulder stand sequence was a bit longer as I counted more than usual counts. Sirsasana felt super light so I stayed 40 breaths in 20 in half bend. Utplitih was 15 breaths today. But I had to take a short savasana. I thanked Anne and left the shala with Monica. It was a very nice and heartwarming practice again :-)
